After months of controversy, protest and the whole emo vs metal debate, My Chemical Romance have pulled off a sensational set in the face of potential adversity. Sure, the bottles flew, but a wedge of devoted MCR fans who packed the front rows made sure their idols were protected - scores of you took one for Gerard and you should be commended!
Ditching the usual marching band attire, Gerard Way may have been pushing things a little by demanding 'Have you missed us?' repeatedly (it certainly split the crowd and there were cries of 'NO' in between the cheers), but with the menace of a full scale aerial assault, MCR won over the crowd within the first few songs. Bold, beautiful and beligerant, My Chemical Romance paved their way into Download history with a triumphant show that proved any doubters well and truly wrong.

Yet another reason to hate the festival-goers of Britain that do this type of shit. Fucking low as.
But it didn't phase them and they played awesome, so I hear, and to be honest I wouldn't have expected any less.
No harm done. The day one of the boys gets hurt, however, is the day I'm going to grab a six-shooter and storm Donnington Park.
That's what you get for sticking a not-so-metal band on an oh-so-metal lineup... what was the idea, to spark so much controversy that the fans in the front row have to take bottles to the head because everyone else has terrible aim?
Pah. Dickheads.
If you hear anything about MCR pussying out and finishing early, they had to cut a few songs because of an incident at the Dimebag Darrel stage, where a barrier collapsed and fans of Korn, who were playing on that stage at the time, were headed towards the main stage. To 'avoid confrontation', the band were forced to finish early.
There's some videos of the bottling on youtube, go find them. Reminds me of a special day last August.
When shit like this happens, it reminds you just how strong this band is. Yeah?
Yeah.
Yeaaahhh.
