First off, the new video is growing on me at long last! It's been out in the mad world of mainstream music for about four days now so if you're yet to watch it, tune into any music channel or check out the bands myspace (link on the main page).
Right, tonights main attraction... we all know the track listing, but we don't know the songs...or do we?
Haha, well guess what kids, I do. Sort of.
It turns out that on the Welcome To The Black Parade iTunes single was released on the 12th September along with something very, very interesting - 'sneak peaks' of the new album :]
And, being the news-scavenger loser that I am, I listened to it and decided to give all of you a vague description of each song - the previews are only about 10 seconds each though, and some tracks are missing, so I'll probably be wrong :]
'Mama'
Just think Gerard as a cowboy and Frank and Ray scratching their fingernails on a blackboard* with a random beat in the background that sounds like Bob hitting his head on a xylophone, and you'll be fairly close.
For the introduction (I assume) anyways. Then we have a heavy part, but that is where the clip ends I'm afraid.
'Mama' just makes me laugh :]
[Unsure]
Onwards! There's a song here that I'm not sure about the name of (the desrciption is wrong I think), but it sounds very similar to I'm Not Okay, only maybe slightly... I don't know, happier.
'Dead!'
Well we all know this one... except I can safely say that I never noticed the 'la la la la la' when I heard it live... go 'Dead!' :]
'The Sharpest Lives'
I like this one... it doesn't sound like anything the band have done before... it sorta has some elements of indie... it's trim.
'Father'
"Now come on, come all to this tragic affair.." - This one, apparently is Father (also known as The End) and it's incredible by the sounds of it... once again, like nothing they've done before... it sounds churchy in a way... I'm not very good at song reviews am I, haha.
'I Don't Love You'
This is actually very... I don't know, I was sorta reminded of the first album, it has that almost raw sound to it, but much much slower, almost like a ballad... but not. Some nice floaty backing vocals too...
'House Of Wolves'
My favourite. It has a heavy bass line, and it's a little like To The End (one of my favourites off Three Cheers).
'Cancer'
Think Desert Song, with piano, drums and emotion.
'Sleep'
Another bizarre one, something new, something different. It seems to be very drum-based, as in the verses are made up of a lot of drumming and very little audible guitar... then again that could just be me... it's a little like... nothing really.
'Famous Last Words'
The final track. This one is actually amazing... it's louder, with heavy guitars, much rawer, much more upbeat, I think I'm in love. It's a little like Welcome To The Black Parade, but with even more 'classic' My Chemical Romance essence... such a good ender. And a very abrubt ending to that song which is slightly unusual yet in a good way :]
Now don't forget that I haven't actually heard the album, as much as I want to... I feel guilty enough for even hearing this, even though it's official stuff... anyways. I will say now though, if you were expecting a sequel to Three Cheers... prepare to be suprised. This is a very daring and very very different record, and you either love it or hate it... let's just hope we'll love it and can keep our brains in our skulls while we wait to become a part of The Black Parade.
Which is in...

Ps: I made a fuckload of spelling mistakes but oh well, you can suffer...
* Or maybe hardcore banjo playing.
