So, now we know a little bit more about the long-awaited new album from everyones favourite band, My Chemical Romance.
{Source: Wikipedia}
1. As we all know, this album is being produced by Rob Cavallo. If his name sounds familiar, it's probably because he also produced every Green Day record since '94 with the exception of Warning. Seeing as he worked on American Idiot, the infamous rock opera record we all know and love, this should be good.
2. SxSW Festival saw the first performance of a new My Chemical Romance track, named 'Father'. Gerard confirmed that this song is going to be featured on the new album. Also, there's a rather nice rumour spreading around that the live track 'Disenchanted (Shut Up And Play)' is being put through the studio and will feature on the album. This hasn't been confirmed by the band, but I think it's likely.
3. Forget what Mikey said on his Myspace a while back =]] The band are too intelligent to just state the name of their new record on the Internet. 'The Rise And Fall Of My Chemical Romance' is NOT the new album title - the real name has been fixed for a long time and Gerard has stated that it's perfect for the record.
4. July 28th saw Frank inform interviewers at Rock Sound that the album may be arriving as a birthday present to himself, strongly hinting that the album could be hitting the stores around Halloween (unless he has two birthdays, and as magical as he is, I doubt it).
5. Frank (I think) also released some more information - the name of the first single of the new album, for instance. It's called 'The Black Parade' and will be directed by Sam Bayer (genius) - he also directed 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' (winner of MANY awards), 'Wake Me Up When September Ends', 'American Idiot' and 'Jesus Of Suburbia' (all by Green Day, of course). Gunna be a fucking awesome video then.
Okay. Enough talk. Here's the highlight of all this:
1. Disenchanted (Shut Up and Play)
2. Father
3. Dead!
4. This Is How I Disappear
5. Kill All Your Friends
6. Boy Division (unconfirmed)
7. The Black Parade (unconfirmed)
THAT is a list of the only confirmed songs to feature on the new album (not sure if that's the final track order) and two unconfirmed.
'Til next time, stay safe kiddies...
