My Chemical Romance are currently two members down from their usual ranks.
Since their show on November 12 in Aberdeen, the New Jersey rock titans have been without the tub-thumping skills of Bob Bryar and the guitar-licks of Frank Iero.
Speaking exclusively to Kerrang!, vocalist Gerard Way explains the temporary departure of both members:
"Bob has problems with his wrists," says the singer. "He has cysts on his right wrist on the tendons, he can't grip anything and he has no use of his hand. We have an old friend Pete standing in on drums."
"Frank has had a family emergency and had to go home," he adds. "That happens sometimes. We have Matt Cortez filling in, in his place."
"They are both happy for the show to keep going," he reveals. "That’s the way we do things!"
Guitarist Ray Toro has the following to say on the subject:
"It's definitely different playing without them," he says. "Not only musically, but the presence on stage too. You miss looking at their faces. You miss their energy on stage. But we are doing the best we can." - Kerrang website.
