Gerards POV

My heart racing, I pulled her to feet quickly as the roar of the train faded into the foggy distance. Her hair fell messily into her eyes as she stared first down at herself, trembling, and then raised her head to look at me.

I was aware of the silence that had now fallen amongst the group but I took no notice, didn't register it - I'd just saved a life. I had to make sure she was okay. Not injured. That she was going to stay with me forever, that this would never happen again.

"I... thanks, Gerard..." She stammered, putting a hand to her shining forehead. I pulled her into a hug, delicately, just to be sure she wasn't going to fall apart in my arms.
"Are you alright?" I asked quietly. I felt her nod into my shoulder.
"You kept your promise."
"To never hurt you?"
"Yeah."

I smiled to myself, burying my face into her soft hair, "I always keep my promises."
"Thanks." She whispered.
"For what?" I asked, pulling her away from me slowly and holding her firmly by the arms. She looked up at me, eyes shimmering in the bright lights.
"For being my Gerard."
I couldn't resist the temptation to let the corners of my mouth curl into a broad grin. She mirrored my expression and we both turned to the others. They were shaken, but happy.

"Shall we get moving then?" Allie asked.
Ray nodded, "Not far to my house, then we can relax, yeah?"
I nodded in agreement and we began to walk, crossing the last set of tracks a lot more cautiously than before. Once we were on soft grass once more, I turned to look at her. She was cringing.

"Whats up?"
"There's a lot of spiky stuff here."
Looking down, I could see her left converse missing, left back on the trainlines. She followed my gaze and twitched her toes. Cute.
"I'll buy you new shoes."
"Seriously?"
"Anything you want."
She smiled slightly, "Even a new pair of bat-printed Vans?"
"Don't push your luck."
